Cardiac Services

We have specialized knowledge of the entire cardiovascular surgical process which is used to treat complications of ischemic heart disease to correct congenital heart disease or to treat valvular heart disease from several causes.

Angiography

Angiography is a medical imaging technique used to visualize the inside, or lumen, of blood vessels and organs of the body, with particular interest in the arteries, veins, and the heart chambers. Modern angiography is performed by injecting a radio-opaque contrast agent into the blood vessel and imaging using X-ray based techniques such as fluoroscopy.

Angioplasty

Angioplasty is a minimally invasive endovascular procedure used to widen narrowed or obstructed arteries or veins, typically to treat arterial atherosclerosis. A deflated balloon attached to a catheter is passed over a guide-wire into the narrowed vessel and then inflated to a fixed size. The balloon forces expansion of the blood vessel and the surrounding muscular wall, allowing an improved blood flow. A stent may be inserted at the time of ballooning to ensure the vessel remains open, and the balloon is then deflated and withdrawn.

Valve Repair

Traditionally, open-heart surgery is used to replace heart valves. This means that a large incision is made in the chest and the heart stopped for a time so that the surgeon can repair or replace the valves. Newer, less invasive techniques have been developed to repair heart valves. Minimally invasive procedures make smaller incisions, and mean less pain afterward and shorter hospital stays.

Pacemaker (MRI Compatible Dual Chamber)

An artificial cardiac pacemaker or just pacemaker is a medical device that generates electrical impulses delivered by electrodes to the chambers of the heart either the upper atria, or lower ventricles to cause the targeted chambers to contract and pump blood. By doing so, the pacemaker regulates the function of the electrical conduction system of the heart.

CABG (Coronary Artery Bypass Graft)

Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, also known as Coronary Artery Bypass Graft surgery, and colloquially heart bypass or bypass surgery, is a surgical procedure to restore normal blood flow to an obstructed coronary artery. A normal coronary artery transports blood to the heart muscle itself, not through the main circulatory system. CABG is performed to relieve angina that is poorly managed by maximum tolerated anti-ischemic medication, prevent or relieve left ventricular dysfunction, and reduce the risk of death.
